Where we work in Seattle
- WithinSodo. Their FAQ states you are welcome to bring in any licensed caterer or food truck, with no exclusivity outside the bar. Requires a certificate of insurance naming WithinSodo as additional insured, and full-service catering.
- Block 41. Belltown. States a food truck and multiple carts fit in the courtyard with the gate closed. A prep kitchen on each floor.
- Town Hall Seattle. Any caterer may be used; preferred status waives the extra fees. Needs a $1M certificate thirty days ahead.
- Fremont Abbey Arts Center. Off-list caterers permitted for a $200 fee, and food trucks allowed as an add-on to standard catering.
- Ballard Homestead. 260 maximum. Same policy as Fremont Abbey.
- Magnuson Park Officers Club. 80 seated, 142 standing. City-run; renters bring their own caterer and there is a full caterer’s kitchen.
- National Nordic Museum. Outside caterers permitted with additional fees and a refundable cleaning deposit.
- Center for Wooden Boats. States it offers no catering packages and guests may use the caterer of their choice.
- Seattle Center. Eleven approved caterers, none of them a pizza operator. To join you need a contract with Seattle Center and to pay fifteen percent of the invoiced amount.
- MOHAI. Closed list of six. Their policy precludes any caterer outside it.
- Cathedral. Outside caterers welcome pending approval, with a $500 operational access fee.
The biggest market and the most regulated one. Seattle is the only jurisdiction in the region that publishes concrete open-flame rules, which is genuinely helpful because it means the answer is knowable in advance rather than discovered on the day.
How an office lunch runs
The oven parks where your building allows, the fire is lit before the lunch window, and pizza comes out continuously so a rolling crowd is served without a queue. One invoice per event with the site address on it.
Seattle sits in King County, so temporary food permits go through Public Health — Seattle & King County, and open-flame
cooking needs fire marshal sign-off. We carry our own licensing and deal with that paperwork.
