South end of Lake Washington, and the single most crowded city in the region for mobile wood-fired pizza.
Forty minutes from Tacoma. We cover all of it — downtown Renton, the Landing, Kennydale, Newcastle border — and the oven sets up anywhere a trailer can park and a fire marshal will approve.
What follows is not a directory scrape. We read each venue's published catering policy on 2026-08-31, and the notes below say what their own site actually states.
184 to 230. Outside catering allowed and there is a full caterer’s kitchen; a banquet permit is required.
Do not pitch — operated exclusively by Rain City Catering.
No kitchen, rotating vendor lot beside the taproom.
June to September, Tuesdays. Notable because Renton routes all cooking-equipment approval through the Renton Regional Fire Authority rather than the city.
Three direct competitors are based in Renton: Stella Fiore, PizzaManiac and A Fire Inside. Stella Fiore is the only operator ranking on page one for both of the main search terms in this market.
We publish this because you will find these operators anyway, and comparing openly beats pretending they do not exist. Our own comparisons are on the compare pages.
Renton sits in King County, so temporary food service runs on a Temporary Food Establishment permit, applied for through Public Health — Seattle & King County. Open-flame and propane cooking is approved city by city. Seattle itself requires a Seattle Fire Department permit, with cylinders kept at least ten feet from tents and the public and no more than five on site. We carry our own licensing and insurance and handle this side, but venues will ask, and it is worth knowing the answer exists before the day.
We arrive early enough to site the oven, light the fire about an hour before service, and cook continuously — a pizza roughly every ninety seconds once the oven is at temperature. Guests watch the whole thing happen. When service ends we break down, pack out and leave the site as found. One invoice, the address on it.
