A good illustration of the whole pitch: the main venue here has a warming kitchen and no cooking facilities, so a caterer who brings his own fire solves the building’s central limitation.
Forty-five minutes from Tacoma. We cover all of it — Lake Wilderness, Four Corners, Cedar River — and the oven sets up anywhere a trailer can park and a fire marshal will approve.
What follows is not a directory scrape. We read each venue's published catering policy on 2026-08-31, and the notes below say what their own site actually states.
Up to 220. City-owned. States you may choose any caterer and that self-catering is permitted. The kitchen is warming-only — a microwave and two ovens, no cooking — and open flame indoors is restricted to glass-enclosed candles.
Barn seats 225 for a ceremony, 250 reception-style.
Ranch venue with a published email.
No kitchen, but they have a regular partner truck — ask before pitching.
Cascadia Pizza Co. lists Maple Valley among its bases.
We publish this because you will find these operators anyway, and comparing openly beats pretending they do not exist. Our own comparisons are on the compare pages.
Maple Valley sits in King County, so temporary food service runs on a Temporary Food Establishment permit, applied for through Public Health — Seattle & King County. Open-flame and propane cooking is approved city by city. Seattle itself requires a Seattle Fire Department permit, with cylinders kept at least ten feet from tents and the public and no more than five on site. We carry our own licensing and insurance and handle this side, but venues will ask, and it is worth knowing the answer exists before the day.
We arrive early enough to site the oven, light the fire about an hour before service, and cook continuously — a pizza roughly every ninety seconds once the oven is at temperature. Guests watch the whole thing happen. When service ends we break down, pack out and leave the site as found. One invoice, the address on it.
